Is Hope a Good Thing?

In her Nope, there is Hope...

And no good thing ever dies!

So, does Hope give birth to lies

That in adversity man doth sing?

In Hope do people dwell,

Something to believe in!

Something that is bright and green,

Something that makes the heart swell!

Hope is good so long as there is hope,

And that Hope brings further hope!

Or people would like blind-men grope,

Seeking to end their lives with a rope!

O' Hope are you a fleeting happiness

That is the result of our imagination

To give relief to the soul in desperation

When we have created a big mess?

Do we seek people we know of no use

That someday may change their mind?

Aren't You at your work to wind

The thoughts for those who might lose?

They say Hope is a good thing,

And to hope for the good is the best.

And so do people seek East and West

In the hope of the perfect ring!

Should we place our trust on Hope,

When we know everything is dismal?

Are we better than those animal

That can't feel Time's slope?

In distress, does Hope serve mankind.

In rejection, does Hope serve mankind.

In a refusal, does Hope serve mankind.

In a Nope, does Hope serve mankind.

And Yes, all the while we are blind!
